About
Welcome to the Omega Region Pokémon League - the official Pokémon League of the Omega Region Discord server! This server has 8 moderators, also known as the Omega Region Gym Leaders.
This Pokémon League is very similar to that of the Pokémon anime and games:
You are a Pokémon trainer that can challenge the Pokémon League via Pokémon Showdown. There are 8 Gym Leaders you can battle. Defeating a Gym Leader will earn you their corresponding Gym Badge. Collecting all 8 Gym Badges grants you access to battle the Elite Four. Defeating the Elite Four grants you access to battle the Omega Region Champion. And defeating the Region Champion makes you the new Region Champion!
There are some nuances and extra rules that differ from the anime and games, and everything is covered in this document.
League Officers
The Omega Region Pokémon League consists of 3 branches that trainers can battle. Each branch that a trainer conquers will unlock access to the next branch. The order of branches are:
- Gym Leaders (8 trainers)
- Elite Four (4 trainers)
- Champion (1 trainer)
A trainer may only challenge the Elite Four if they have collected all 8 Gym Badges. If a trainer defeats all 4 members of the Elite Four, they may challenge the Omega Region Champion.
All Gym Leader challenges are a best of 1 match. Elite Four challenges and Region Champion challenges are a best of 3 matches. Trainers have 3 attempts to defeat a Gym Leader, 2 attempts to defeat an Elite Four member, and 1 attempt to defeat the Champion. Consequences for failing to defeat any of these League members are covered in the "Omega Region Pokémon League" section of this rulebook.

Omega Region Pokémon League
Here are the rules for the different types of trainers in the Omega Region Pokémon League.
Regular Trainers
- Trainers may not change their team in the middle of their journey. Doing so will result in forfeiting any badges/titles that have been collected and a penalty of a 2-day suspension from challenging the League again.
- Trainers may change their teams infinite times before starting their journey and as long as they have not earned a Gym Badge. Trainers must re-register their team if they make changes to it.
- Trainers may retire and restart their journey once it has started. However, they must wait 48 hours after retiring before challenging the League again if they do. Trainers may register a new team before beginning their new journey. However, if a trainer already has 0 badges, they can start again immediately. Trainers must publicly announce they are changing their team and/or restarting their journey (tag Omega and @everyone in the #CHALLENGE-REQUESTS channel).
Gym Leaders
- Trainers may only challenge the same Gym Leader once per day.
- Trainers may only challenge up to 2 Gym Leaders per day.
- Gym Leader challenges are a best of 1 match.
- Gym Leaders may administer a test or puzzle to a challenging trainer before battle. Failure to successfully complete a test or puzzle will result in a 30-minute penalty in which a trainer may not retry the test or puzzle until after the penalty has passed. 5 test/puzzle failures will equivalate to 1 Gym attempt
- If a trainer loses to an individual Gym Leader 3 times, they must forfeit any badges they have earned and start over. The trainer may register a new team before challenging the Region again. The trainer must wait 1 day after forfeiting their Gym Badges to challenge the Pokémon League again.
- If a trainer loses to an individual Gym Leader 3 times before earning any Gym Badges, they must wait 24 hours to challenge the League again.
- Gym Leaders are allowed to have 1 Pokémon that does not correspond to the type of their Gym
- Gym Leaders may change their team once per week
- One of the Gym Leaders will specialize in double battles. Trainers may not create a new Pokémon team to battle this Gym Leader.
Elite Four
The Elite Four consists of Four trainers who have successfully collected all 8 Gym Badges.
In the beginning of the season, the Elite Four positions will be unoccupied. Trainers may occupy an Elite Four position after earning 8 Gym Badges. Each Elite Four position is now ranked. Here is how the positions will be filled:
- Elite Four Member #1: the first trainer to earn 8 Gym Badges
- Elite Four Member #2: the second trainer to earn 8 Gym Badges
- Elite Four Member #3: the third trainer to earn 8 Gym Badges
- Elite Four Member #4: the fourth trainer to earn 8 Gym Badges
Trainers may not change their Pokémon team after becoming a member of the Elite Four.
Challenging the Elite Four
Trainers may not directly challenge a specific Elite Four member for their position. Trainers may only challenge all of the Elite Four members in an attempt to take over the Region Champion position.
Trainers have 2 attempts to defeat an individual Elite Four member.
Trainers must challenge the Elite Four in the following order:
- Elite Four Member #4
- Elite Four Member #3
- Elite Four Member #2
- Elite Four Member #1
Forfeiting an Elite Four Position
If an Elite Four member wants to step down from their position, they must forfeit their Gym Badges, their “Omega Region Elite Four Member” title, and their position. They may start the Pokémon League over immediately.
This also means an Elite Four position will become available. Omega will fill in any empty Elite Four positions until a trainer dethrones him of that position.
The Omega Region Champion
At the beginning of each Season, the first Region Champion will be the Final Region Champion from the previous Season.
The Omega Region Champion can only be challenged by a trainer who has successfully defeated all of the Elite Four members.
Region Champion challenges will be one best of 3 match.
If a trainer is successful in defeating the Region Champion, the trainer becomes the new Region Champion.
If the Region Champion is defeated, they have the option to occupy the position of Elite Four Member #1. All the other Elite Four members will shift down a position, kicking out the previous Elite Four Member #4. If the defeated Region Champion does not wish to be part of the Elite Four, they must forfeit their position, their Gym Badges, and their “Omega Region Champion” title. They must wait 24 hours after being defeated to challenge the League again.
If a trainer is unsuccessful in defeating the Region Champion, they have the option to occupy the position of Elite Four Member #1. All the other Elite Four members will shift down a position, kicking out the previous Elite Four Member #4. If the defeated challenger does not wish to be part of the Elite Four, they must forfeit all of their Gym Badges and their “Omega Region Expert Trainer” title and start over. The trainer may immediately start earning Gym Badges again.
Trainers may not change their Pokémon team after they become the Region Champion.
Sending Challenge Requests and Responses
To prevent any dysfunction in the Pokémon League, we will be enforcing strict rules regarding requesting challenges and responding to them.
Trainers must request to challenge Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, and the Region Champion by posting in the #CHALLENGE-REQUESTS channel while tagging the trainer they want to challenge. Challenges cannot be requested prior to a Season starting.
The following are the rules for responding to challenges for each League branch.
Challenge Requests for Gym Leaders
- There is no order in challenging the Gym Leaders.
- Gym Leaders must respond to trainer challenges and battle within 3 days after the challenge has been requested. Failure to do so will result in the challenging trainer automatically earning the corresponding Gym Badge by default.
- The previous rule is nullified if a Gym Leader has publicly posted a notice of absence before a challenge has been requested. However, if the absence will be 7 days or more, then Omega will act as a temporary Leader for that Gym.
- If the challenging trainer fails to show up to their own challenge after 3 days of requesting, the trainer will forfeit any other Gym Badges they have collected and start over. The trainer must also wait 1 day after forfeiting their Gym Badges to challenge the League again.
Challenge Requests for the Elite Four
- Trainers must first challenge Elite Four Member #4 and work their way up to Elite Four Member #1.
- Elite Four members must respond to trainer challenges and battle within 3 days after the challenge has been requested. Failure to do so will result in the Elite Four member forfeiting their position, their “Omega Region Elite Four Member” title, and Gym Badges. Your Discord title will not be revoked.
- The previous rule is nullified if an Elite Four member has publicly posted a notice of absence before a challenge has been requested. However, if the absence is going to be 7 days or more, the previous rule is not nullified and is executed as written.
- If an Elite Four member loses their position due to failing to respond to a trainer challenge, the challenging trainer may choose to fill in that position. If the trainer does not want to fill in the position, then the positions of the remaining Elite four members will shift up until the top 3 positions are filled and the 4th position will be unoccupied until another trainer who has earned 8 Gym Badges wishes to take the position. If a trainer who has earned 8 Gym Badges does not want to occupy the empty 4th position, Omega will fill the position.
- If the challenging trainer fails to show up to their own challenge after 3 days of requesting, the trainer will forfeit any other Gym Badges they have collected and start over. The trainer must also wait 24 hours after forfeiting their Gym Badges to challenge the League again.
Challenge Requests the Region Champion
- The Region Champion must respond to trainer challenges and battle within 3 days after the challenge has been requested. Failure to do so will result in the Region Champion forfeiting their position, their “Omega Region Champion Title”, and their Gym Badges.
- The previous rule is nullified if the Region Champion has publicly posted a notice of absence before a challenge has been requested. However, if the absence will be 7 days or more, then Omega will act as a temporary Region Champion until he is dethroned.
- If the Region Champion loses their position due to failing to respond to a trainer challenge, the challenging trainer may choose to fill in the position of Region Champion.
- If the challenging trainer fails to show up to their own challenge after 3 days of requesting, the trainer will forfeit any other Gym Badges they have collected and their “Omega Region Expert Trainer” title and start over. The trainer must also wait 1 day after forfeiting their Gym Badges to challenge the League again.
Thank You!
If you have any questions, please reach out to either Omega or one of the Gym Leaders.
